In Brief: Realm Flowers

We make your world beautiful with distinctive flowers, plants and home décor. We have a selection of fresh, locally sourced flowers, and we offer many creative workshops. The shop offers that unique piece of home décor or the perfect gift for someone special. We select our flowers from local growers to ensure you get a distinctive look that lasts.

Why Morgan Hill?
I moved to Morgan Hill from San Jose 25 years ago and raised my family here. I owned a salon in town and decided to change things up and it started with flowers and design work. With the growth in Morgan Hill it was time to do something here. It’s an exciting time. I think there’s a need in Morgan Hill. We do have flower shops but I’m not a typical flower shop. I decided to do gifts, flowers, and workshops, so there are three components to my business. I bundled the things that I love. I love retail and there’s room for more in Morgan Hill. With the growth people want to shop.

How has your business grown?
I’m still relatively new and I’m coming up on six months. More people know that I’m here now. This week is graduation for Live Oak and Sobrato I’ve gotten lots of orders for leis and also other events like for my flowers. Everyone’s also excited about the workshops and I just think that word of mouth is helping my business.

What have been your best moments here?
My best moments here have been when people come in and say gosh, “this place is so cool, I love this place and didn’t know you were here, so and so told me I needed to come in here and I’m finally here. So that’s what makes be excited, somebody else is excited about what I’m doing. That’s why I’m here.

Where do you get your inspiration?
This shop is a reflection of things that I like and that I’m hoping everyone else likes it too. The inspiration comes from nature and from simplistic designs. It also includes ideas like recycle, reuse, and all of that. My space reflects what I’m inspired by.

What are you looking forward to?
I’m looking forward to my one year anniversary of being open. Say for example Valentine’s Day. I didn’t know what to expect. Everything’s a first. Every holiday, which you know is what we drive on in the flower and gift world but then I’ll kind of an idea of what to expect. It’s been a mystery with each holiday. But I know next year will be even better. I’ll be prepared.
