In 2024, Morgan Hill will become one of four new locations for the quickly growing diner chain: The Breakfast Club. The restaurant will setup shop in the prior YOLKED location and will offer a creative breakfast, lunch, and brunch menu, in addition to a full bar and live music.

On November 28, members of the City of Morgan Hill’s Leadership Team visited Lusamerica Fish to learn about the company’s history, current operations, and take a walking tour of their processing facility for a first-hand look at how the company de-bones, fillets, and packages fresh and frozen seafood onsite. Lusamerica is proud of its commitment to quality and sustainable seafood, recently investing in a dock at Moss Landing Harbor in Monterey Bay to support California fishermen and the continued recovery of the local seafood economy.
Lusamerica was founded in 1975 by Fernando and Ana Frederico and is still family owned and operated to this day. Lusamerica is headquartered in Morgan Hill and employs 500+ employees across the West Coast. They carry over 100 different species of seafood which they distribute to grocery stores, restaurants, food service companies, hospitals, tech companies, retirement communities, entertainment studios and more. Hotel MOHI is a full-service luxury hotel in the heart of Downtown Morgan Hill on First Street and Monterey Road. Construction of the hotel was forced to stop during the COVID Pandemic due to tightening of lending markets. In 2022, to make the project more financially viable, the hotel was redesigned to accommodate a partial fifth floor and 13 additional rooms, for a total of 73 rooms. The MOHI hotel will include a spa, meeting facilities, and a market-hall restaurant. Hotel construction will resume shortly and is scheduled to be completed by December 2025.
MOHI Farm is the newest privately owned restaurant to open in Downtown Morgan Hill, following in the steps of Gorgio’s Italian Grill & Pizzeria, Sushi Confidential, Palmerino’s Italian Deli and Depot Street Pizza. Offering freshly brewed coffee and pressed juice, unique cocktails, and a menu featuring only the best in locally farmed ingredients, Mohi Farm has something for everyone. This farm to table restaurant is the newest concept in the Live+Lovel+Leal hospitality brand owned by hospitality guru and entrepreneur Frank Leal. Other properties in the Leal Hospitality Portfolio include Willow Heights Mansion, Granda Theatre, MOHI Social, and MOHI Wine.

On August 4, the Silicon Valley Business Journal published an article outlining Morgan Hill’s dedication to attract additional advanced manufacturing to the City. With the completion of the Butterfield 5 Technology Park featuring (5) buildings totaling 410,000 sq.ft., and the recent purchase and entrance of the prior 258,211 sq.ft. Shoe Palace Headquarters to the market, Morgan Hill is carving a clear path for industrial development.
“The city has about 6.8 million existing square feet of industrial, R&D and warehouse space, according to the latest quarterly report from brokerage firm Colliers. That’s about 2% of the entire industrial stock of Silicon Valley — in a city that’s just under thirteen square miles in size. With strong demand for industrial space in the region, real estate investors are being drawn to Morgan Hill, and the city government is augmenting its healthy retail sector with additional industrial employers………..”

Urbn Ranch, a new women-owned retail shop, is celebrating their grand opening on July 29 at 6:30 p.m. The store took over the Tac-Oh retail space on 3rd Street and Monterey, part of a development by Don Imwalle and Ken Rodriguez, that houses Willard Hicks, Mo’s Breakfast and Burgers, and Opa!
