SVEDA Members Tour Downtown Morgan Hill

Economic Development Directors from 9 Bay Area Cities met in Morgan Hill on June 23 for a walking tour of the Downtown District. The docent-style tour, led by City of Morgan Hill Economic Development Director Matt Mahood and Assistant City Manager Edith Ramirez, provided an overview of recently opened businesses, current and future developments, and community and art activations. Representatives from Live+Love+Leal, Alara Cellars and the Running Shop and Hops greeted attendees and gave a business overview.

The Silicon Valley Economic Development Alliance, an initiative of Joint Venture Silicon Valley, is comprised of cities and counties focused on achieving individual and regional economic development goals while maximizing scarce resources. Silicon Valley EDA is committed to addressing business needs, whether through local government policy and streamlined permitting processes, or linking businesses to local and regional resources that add value to company innovation and growth. Celebrating 7-Years of Pop Up Park Fun

Celebrating 7-Years of Pop Up Park Fun

After seven years of fun, the Downtown Morgan Hill Pop-Up Park will be dismantled on June 22, to make way for the construction of the Edes Art Gallery. The Pop-Up Park, a temporary installation by the City, has provided a space for families to enjoy an interactive area filled with art and funded in partnership with local businesses and community organizations. The Pop-Up Park was always meant as a temporary activation, and while we say a heartfelt goodbye to this beloved community space, we say an excited hello to a multi-use art gallery and pedestrian promenade.

Investment Company Purchases Butterfield 5

Investment Company Purchases Butterfield 5

Atlanta-based investment company Invesco recently purchased all industrial buildings in the Butterfield 5 Tech Park, totaling 410,000 sq/ft, for approximately $119 Million. Ideal users for the buildings are advanced manufacturing, industrial or warehouse based businesses. At this time, there have been no lease announcements.

Butterfield 5 is an industrial park recently completed by Trammel Crow Company, and located on the West side of Highway 101. The 5 standalone buildings range in size from approximately 70,000 sq/ft to 91,000 sq/ft. Learn more about the Butterfield 5 Technology Park HERE.

Invesco is a global investment firm with more than 8,600 employees, across 26 countries. The firm was founded in 1935 and is based in Atlanta, Georgia. They currently manage $1.5 Trillion in assets. Learn more about Invesco HERE.

389-Unit Apartment Complex Breaks Ground

MBK Rental Living will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for their 389-unit market-rate apartment complex in Morgan Hill on Tuesday, June 7. The community, called Vida Morgan Hill, will consist of two-story and three-story buildings, offering one-bedroom and two-bedroom garden-style apartments. The complex will be constructed on a 19.5-acre site located between Monterey Rd and Butterfield, South of Jarvis Dr and North of Digital Dr.

Mission Bell Manufacturing was founded in Santa Clara County in 1959. After briefly operating under the parent company USA Millwork, Mission Bell has once again resumed operations as a local, employee-owned business, dedicated to premium quality architectural millwork and casework.

Mission Bell is a 60-year-old millwork manufacturing company based in Morgan Hill.  They provide custom commercial millwork and casework for healthcare, technology, education, office, and hospitality projects throughout the Bay Area and Pacific Northwest regions.
