Joe Raineri’s vision for a year-round farmer’s market, working farm, tasting room, restaurant and agricultural education and sustainability facility recently received unanimous approval from the Morgan Hill City Council. Construction on the project, located at the South end of Morgan Hill near Hwy 101, is expected to begin in 2025.
By achieving certification from the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD), Morgan Hill has demonstrated its commitment to fulfilling its obligations under state law to create an inclusive and equitable living environment. The Housing Element is a critical component of Morgan Hill’s General Plan to address the housing challenges in the region. It outlines a comprehensive strategy for accommodating the Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) and ensuring an adequate supply of affordable housing within the City over the next eight years. The certified Housing Element enables Morgan Hill to maintain local control over land-use decisions and to exercise discretion when reviewing development projects.
