In a collaborative effort to build a stronger, more inclusive community, Morgan Hill gathered diverse local residents to discuss the crucial connection between affordable housing and a thriving community. The insightful conversations explored the challenges and opportunities surrounding housing affordability, economic mobility, and fostering a sense of belonging for all residents. The City aims to harness these diverse perspectives to create a path toward upward mobility for all community members, ensuring everyone has access to safe, affordable housing and the opportunity to succeed.

Sutter Health expands services to Morgan Hill

Sutter Health expands services to Morgan Hill

Palo Alto Medical Foundation, a subsidiary of Sutter Health, recently acquired the medical facility at 16130 Juan Hernandez Rd. The 10,000 sq.ft. facility will house seven doctors and is scheduled to reopen with Primary Care and Imaging services in late 2024. This lease is part of Sutter’s broader plan to address the need for greater healthcare access by adding more than 25 new ambulatory care centers across Northern California over the next few years.

There are 20 farms in and around Morgan Hill producing everything from tomatoes, to cherries, to milk! U-pick farms offer a unique hands-on experience and are currently brimming with sun ripened cherries and berries. Attend a farm-to-table event at Terra Amico or MOHI Farm, taste wine at one of 30 award-winning wineries on the Santa Clara Valley Wine Trail or drop by the Morgan Hill Certified Farmer’s Market to buy locally grown ingredients to make your favorite dish at home.

4Q23 Sales tax results

Similar to the State (-2.5%), County (-2.8%), and Bay Area (-4.9%) sales tax results, Morgan Hill’s 4th quarter numbers were also down year-over-year. This decrease is mainly contributed to a 21% decline in the food and drug group, a 4.1% decline in the auto and transportation group, and fluctuating prices of fuel and building materials. As a result of in-store and online holiday purchases the general consumer goods group increased, along with the restaurant and hotel group as patrons continued dining locally despite increasing menu prices.
