The City of Morgan Hill in a collaborative partnership with the California Restaurant Association and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) hosted a seminar on the changing policy landscape impacting business. Kevin McClelland from SBDC and Ghazaleh Modarresi from Berliner Cohen facilitated conversations on the following topic:
Hours and wages
Split shifts
Minimum wage
Employee Breaks and Lunches
Americans with Disabilities Act (access to facilities, menus, websites)
SB 1343 a bill that requires employers with 5 or more employees to provide at least 2 hours of sexual harassment training to all supervisors and at least one hour of sexual harassment training to all non-supervisory employees by January 1, 2020
The session was part of a three part regional series focused on aiding local restaurants navigate the complex environment.
