The CalHFA ADU Grant provides up to $40,000 towards pre-development and non-reoccurring closing costs associated with the construction of an ADU. Predevelopment costs include site prep, architectural designs, permits, soil tests, impact fees, property survey, and energy reports.

According to the County’s latest crop report, nursery crops and mushrooms remained Santa Clara County’s top crops. Overall, the value of Santa Clara County’s agricultural products rose 5.7% to nearly $340 million. Nursery crops remained the most valuable crop type in the county, increasing 19 percent to $109 million in value. Mushrooms, the second-most valuable crop in the county, were up 5 percent to $79 million. This latest crop report provides a snapshot of the region’s diverse agriculture industry and underscores the importance of farmland and rangeland to the sustainability and well-being of Silicon Valley. Beginning July 1, 2020, the Paid Family Leave (PFL) Program was expanded from six to eight weeks, and the 12 week non-paid protected leave was expanded to all businesses, regardless of business size. The California Employment Training Panel (ETP) and the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency (LWDA), recently announced the availability of up to $1,000,000 in California State General Fund dollars, for California Small Businesses impacted by the Paid Family Leave (PFL) Program. The PFL SB Grant will provide to CA small businesses with 51-100 employees a payment of $1,000 and a payment of $2,000 to CA small businesses with less than or equal to 1-50 employees.
The grant funds are meant to help offset the costs incurred when training employees to cover the duties of the individual utilizing Paid Family Leave. Increased costs can include: training and upskilling existing staff to cover the duties of the employee on PFL, hiring and training additional staff to cover the duties of the employee on PFL, and the marketing, recruitment, and training costs to cover these activities.
